Kurzen's Compound (marked BLUE on the map) - Colonel Kurzen was once a very talented Stormwind Officer. He was sent with an expedition to the Jungles of Stranglethorn, where he fell victim to Mai'Zoth, a powerful Ogre Mage and his foul magic. Majority of Colonel's troops are still loyal to him and provide Players with some valuable Loot. In this spot, you will encounter Kurzen Jungle Fighters, Kurzen Medicine Men, Kurzen Wranglers, and Kurzen Commandos. These Humanoids drop a lot of Silk Cloth (that can be generally turned into Bandages and Vendored), valuable Wool Cloth (the main source of Gold from this spot, check the AH prices), Fadeleaf (Medicine Men), Liferoot (Medicine Men), 12 Slot Bags (Commandos), Vendor Trash Items, and some Pocket Money. This spot is especially good for Rogues, as the ability to Pickpocket mobs will increase profits by a noticeable margin. Recommended Level - 34+ (36+ to be extra safe, as Humanoid mobs can be problematic because they tend to run away on low health and pull additional enemies).

Nov 15 Professions Hey guys. Can you think of good items that you crafted and lasted for several levels at least? I have played on private servers and with 1.12 itemization, there was barely anything that I could use for even 3 levels. I have leveled up a leartheworker and only thing I remember using was Deviate Scale Belt. Yes, it's very decent and could last a few levels. But later, there are some blue gloves which are fine, but nothing brilliant. And "Guardian Belt"(+6 spirit, +6 stamina) is pathetic for a blue. I remember trying to craft Robe of power as Tailor for a mage but it wasn't that brilliant either, maybe you digress. :) Sure, at level 60, there are nice robes for tailors but before that, do you think using the 1.12 client diminishes the role of crafting professions for leveling? Imagine ability to craft some brilliant item(for each profession) at level 30 that would last full ten levels just like Warrior's Whirlwind Axe, would be decent, no? Warlocks also have similar quest for Enchanted Gold Bloodrobe, but for classes that don't have such class quests would be an enormous boost.Holylr34 Nov 15

Cold Eye Basilisks (marked RED on the map) - Western shoreline of the middle Stranglethorn Vale is infested with deadly Basilisks. These monsters are a good source of Heavy Leather and Thick Leather (we recommend Skinning for this spot), they also drop a lot of Vendor Trash Items (Curved Basilisk Claw, Intact Basilisk Spine, Large Basilisk Tail, and Squishy Basilisk Eye), Large Fangs (used in Leatherworking, Blacksmithing, and Alchemy Recipes), Wicked Claws (used in Leatherworking and Blacksmithing Recipes), 12 Slot Bags, and most importantly, Cold Eye Basilisks have a small chance to drop the Cold Basilisk Eye (a level 35 BoE Trinket, that can be very valuable, because useful Trinkets are rare in Classic). Recommended Level - 38+.
Nov 15 5 reasons I'm doubtful of WoW Classic I played WoW from patch 1.4 until Sunwell. And I'm not convinced on Classic. 1. I understand nostalgia for the gameplay, and it was a great game, by I don't get why people would want the old graphics when it looked outdated back then. Someone will level a warrior or rogue at snail pace and those 2004 boring graphics will reinforce his perception that the game is bad because it looks bad. 2. The lack of a second talent tree. This was the most demanded feature and I don't see people sticking with the game without it. 3. This has always been in the game, but weekly resets, I never got it, let people able to reset raids. Maybe have a 2 hours cooldown, but if a guild wants to farm a raid every night, or twice on a sunday, or farm the first 3 bosses of MC, let them. Gearing 40-60 people with weekly resets, in this day and age, good luck. 4. Dungeon finder, not sure people will like that, again bad decision. 5. The graphics, no seriously, this is bad on every level of game design, it just make the game look worse, a straight negative with no benefit.Pekuakami24 Nov 15
I joined twitch in 2013 with the gamer name of FuriousPaul and I streamed speedruns of the classic Castlevania games from 2013 - 2017. Lately my streams have died down quite a bit due to working on Classic WoW leveling guides every day.  Although I may come on occasionally and play a random game for fun on my Twitch stream.  I talk a lot about WoW speedrunning on my channel, so feel free to follow and hang out to discuss vanilla WoW if you like.  Classic WoW will be my main focus for a long time.  Unfortunately I will have to wait until Classic WoW comes out before I start streaming it.
Nov 15 Classic Box Cost Disappointed in the decision to bundle the subs and (at least for now) not have a separate Classic sub option. That said, can we at least get a separate box cost for access to classic? It would: - help alleviate temporary bloat and subsequent dead realms - servers would be more stable population-wise over time - remove the bulk of the need for sharding - give a solid idea of how many servers will be needed - allow blizzard to set up a separate classic forum for those with a monetary commitment - with a separate forum group, feedback would be limited to those with a vested interest The subs would still be bundled, but there would be a box cost, akin to what one would have to pay for BFA access. A very good to-the-point post from later on in this thread:... Another good post about how the current setup would necessitate sharding:...  ":"  -  Any time a step ends in a ":" instead of a "." means that the next step is part of the current step you are on.  This generally means the next step should be done while working on the current step.  This means every "start working on" or "continue working on" will end in a ":".  But this is used with other occasions as well, so keep this in mind.
Nov 15 Question about the PVP system I am struggling to put the words to my question so let me just throw my 'plan' out there. Please correct me if my assumptions are wrong. Since horde are typically the pvp focused faction, I planned on rolling alliance on a pvp server with horde dominating the server in order to climb pvp ranks easier. My queue times would be instant and there would be less competition when trying to climb the ranks. The way I understand the honor system is that I am competing against others on my faction for a position on the ladder. Less competition would make it easier to climb. I know I will never get rank 14 and don't plan on it. I thought with my limited play time, if I was on a horde dominated pvp server I would cap around rank 6-7. Being on the alliance on the same realm I could get to 8-9 with the same /played. Is this true or do I have it wrong?Jdpp5 Nov 15
Whelgar's Excavation Site - This Dwarven excavation site was overrun by Raptors (Mottled Scythemaws and Mottled Razormaws). These reptiles are a great source of Medium Leather (you should have Skinning Profession if you want to farm here, as a very large portion of income that comes from this spot is acquired by Skinning Raptors). They also drop some Vendor Trash Items and Raptor Eggs (these are convenient, as a Cooking Recipe for them comes from a Quest that is located just above the Site) that can be used for Leveling up Cooking Skill. However, the best part about this spot is that both Raptor types present here drop level 19 Twink Gear (Feet of the Lynx, Sentry Cloak, Redbeard Crest, and Twisted Chanter's Staff) that will achieve astronomical prices at the later stages of the Game (drop rates are very low, so some RNG is involved, sadly). Recommended Level - 25+.
*If you run out of Bag and Bank space on your Alt, fear not, as the Mailbox itself is a great place to store your Items. Just mail everything to your Alt and keep it in the Mailbox. Expired parcels will be automatically mailed back to your Main, so you will not lose any items and be able to Mail everything to your Alt again (Mailing items cost some additional Gold, but the amount is negligible when compared to the utility provided by almost unlimited storage space).
This Shadow Talent Build is the fastest for Leveling Up a Priest Class from 1-60 in WoW Classic patch 1.12. Spamming Shadow Damage DOTs while kite mobs will be the name of the game with this build, having the ability to sustain your health is just a bonus. You will just need to make sure you are stacking enough spirit so you don’t run out of mana often as that will slow down the levelling process drastically.

Nov 15 [OCE] Alliance Late night PvE will be a hard core focused PvE raiding guild. GOALS To clear all content efficiently and quickly To have fun To be the best we can be To clear MC during week 2- RAID TIMES raid times will be held in GMT+9, this is Japan's time zone for reference, this does NOT follow day light savings. for reference, at this moment these times would be 11:30 in Sydney, and 7:30AM EST USA. MON 9:30PM-12:30AM WED 9:30PM-12:30AM THUR 9:30PM-12:30AM-may schedule a 4th day during progression if needed- 20 man raids will be help on off days, or raid days if all content has been cleared. again to be clear, this schedule will not follow DSL, so your start time may move 1 hour forward or backwards during the year. EXPECTATIONS I want my raiders to be willing. You do not have to be a former pro raider, you do not have to have vanilla experience. While these things are welcomed and I do share these qualities. All i need from you is the willingness to learn and become better. Give me your best and I'll give you quality leadership that has proven time and time again to down bosses and push through content. Effort will always be rewarded. LOOT RULES I will be using my own system style of loot council. It has worked well for me in the past and I will continue to use it. I can explain parts of it in detail on discord if you wish. ROSTER This is a brand new endeavor, I will be main tanking and I am looking for others to help me push this to a competent raid team. I look forward to making fresh connections and creating great bonds with all of you. ABOUT ME I have been playing warcraft since vanilla. I climbed higher and higher into better and better guilds until I eventually landed in a top 10 US guild during MoP. before WOD released I essentially stopped hardcore raiding and went more casual. I am now looking to get back into a more hardcore scene with like minded individuals who enjoy the prestige of completing content quickly. When it comes to levelling the Priest Class from 1-60 fast, XP grinding locations is only half the battle. You will need to make sure your weapon does enough DPS so that you can clear these mobs fast enough, it should also be noted that monster should be around your level to make sure to gain the 100% XP Reward. The Level your character should be before you start that specific location will be indicated to left in a Blue Color for Alliance [Lvl 35-39] and the Orange Color for Horde [Lvl 35-39]. The Mobs you are looking for in that specific area names are Bolded [Mob Name].
As you level, you will buy new ranks of spells. If you splurge out on an item upgrade, you will not have enough gold readily available to upgrade to the latest ranks of spells: placing you behind. Moreover, you can buy gear upgrades from the Auction House (AH) or vendors. Furthermore, you may have large investments that need to be paid for professors. You will need to purchase reagents and items such as leather, bolts of cloth, alchemy supplies – unless you have a charitable friend or another high-level alt.
Check Item's Vendor Price before posting it on the Auction House - Selling items on the Auction House below their Vendor value is a common mistake. Avoid it like fire, and always make sure that you are not losing Gold on your Auctions. If you plan to sell an item on the AH for a price just a tiny bit higher than its Vendor value, you might be better off just vendoring the said item (this will allow you to avoid the risk of losing an Auction fee if your Item doesn't sell).

Nov 15 Little Test on Class Quest Rewards Hey guys, I did a little test on certain class rewards to check whether they are adequate or not for the level they are obtainable. Paladin - Verigan's Fist is a famous weapon, added probably during the Naxx patch and lot of paladins remember lasting it for long time. Obtainable level is like 22, with party of same level players. And the Mace is equivalent to a level 26 Blue Mace. This means it's not bad! Warrior - Brutal Hauberk is infamous warrior chest. It is obtainable at level 20(as I remember), but it requires running a level 28+ dungeon. And it's mediocre - it compares to a level 24 blue, which is stupid. Whirlwind Axe is a famous warrior weapon which requires a nanny. :D You get level 30 and then pay people money or beg them to help you. This is not even doable with normal party until 35ish. Whirlwind Axe is equivalent to a 35 level Blue Axe, which is decent but still seems to be forcing it. Unless you hire a nanny, being social will probably help you get it at around 35-36 with similar level players. Warlock - Enchanted Gold Bloodrobe is pretty famous. I am not sure when it is exactly doable but is comparable to a level 35ish Robe. I think the verdict is that Paladin's Hammer is by far the best and the reason for it is that it was added later, at the end of vanilla, when Blizzard had more brains. :DHolylr1 Nov 15
Some players choose to take a slightly alternative approach to their gold farming. This approach can take an extensive amount of time and dedication. Many people choose to train a ton of alts, solely for the purpose of making money and multi-tasking. In World of Warcraft Classic, professions are usually paired together. For example, if you’re training alchemy, you will need herbs to create consumables (e.g. flasks) that are used for raiding. An intelligent and observant player could seize this knowledge by creating one alchemy alt and one herbalism alt, swapping items as needed between each other. This fully mitigates the fees by the Auction House, which means your profit is maximised. Another complimentary combination you can use is skinning and tailoring, or cooking and fishing.
Learn only the Essential Skills - Learning new and upgraded Skills gets very expensive very quickly (Buying a single skill that requires level 30 will cost you 1 Gold, and a single level 40 Skill costs 2 Gold) If you buy just the essentials, you can save anywhere from 15 to 30 gold before level 40, depending on your Class. Generally, higher ranks of skills that are used for their utility effects can be skipped (these include Warrior's Harmstring, Rogue's Gouge and Kick, Mage's Frost Nova, and many other CC and utility skills and abilities). Also, don't buy any ranks of abilities that you will not use during leveling (things like Rogue's Expose Armor, Hunter's Eyes of the Beast, Warlock's Eye of Kilrogg, and so on).
Create a Bank Alt and level it up to level 5 - The leveling part is very important because you can pick up Enchanting after you reach it. In Classic, you can disenchant EVERY uncommon item of every level, if you have the enchanting profession. Disenchanting weak BoE Uncommon Items and selling Enchanting Materials on AH will help you make some extra money out of otherwise Vendor-destined gear. The Bank Alt will also serve as your high-capacity storage for various items* that are bound to rise in value over time or might come in handy at a later date. Overall, this is a must-have, as it will improve your overall leveling and Gold-making efficiency, let you store additional items, allow you to consolidate your Gold on a single character, and provide you with a way of squeezing some extra Gold out of various Items.
Nov 15 Classic was great, BC was better. IMO, BC hit the sweet spot in terms of content and gaming for WoW. It basically kept the core gameplay of Classic, but streamlined it for a better experience. Questing wasn't much different (still needed groups for hard quests), dungeons were still challenging (no LFD, heroics could be very difficult), and the raids were plentiful and required less people (25 and 10) Classes were much more balanced, specs were vastly improved (druids and paladins could finally tank and DPS as good as they could heal) In PVP, arenas are one thing I don't know if they should have ever added TBH. Some people might complain about the introduction of flying mounts, but I think it fit the expansion well. Also, Shattrath City was a great city hub! I enjoyed spending time there. Overall, I think it was the best WoW has ever been.Rhamus13	Nov 15

The vanilla WoW Horde leveling guide you see on this site was originally made back in 2006 by Joana (AKA Mancow, or FuriousPaul).  The guides have been tweaked many times over the years to make things "faster".  The leveling guides were made because of all the messages I got from people asking me how I was able to level up so quickly on new realms.  I was first to level 60 on 7 different realms (3 with Mancow and 4 with Joana), even winning Blizzard's "First to Level 50" contest they held back in 2006.

Nov 15 Which class are you planning on rolling? I'm still trying to decide between: Orc shaman: enhancement until 60 then resto for pvp Undead priest: shadow unless I decide to raid a bit Leaning towards these healers since I don't mind the role and 5 mans will be insanely easy to pickup. I've also been tossing around the idea of rogue/mage since that is what I played back on during vanilla/BC (had a blast ganking).Xano24 Nov 15

Tainted Oozes (market GREEN on the map) - Oozes infest Felwood in great numbers, and although they do not have too good Loot Table, they might be still worth Grinding. This spot is a long shot, so be warned. Felwood Oozes have a small chance to Drop Oozing Bag which in turn has a small chance to contain the Disgusting Oozeling Pet (this pet is used to throw off various Debuffs in Raids, so many Guilds will require you to have it), the Bag can also contain various Potions, Herbs, and Gems. Oozes themselves drop a lot of low-value Vendor Trash Items and some Pocket Money (they can also be Pickpocketed, so Rogues might be more interested in this spot). Recommended Level - 50+.
Before work began on World of Warcraft: Classic, it was only possible for players to experience the original World of Warcraft by using private servers, which are illegal, often have stability or corruption problems, and generally are very imperfect recreations of the authentic World of Warcraft experience. As much as Blizzard has been aware of the desires of their community, until recently it seemed impossible for them to emulate Classic servers due to the technical hurdles of essentially having to run two massively multiplayer online games side-by-side. A breakthrough was then achieved that made it possible to run Classic servers on the modern architecture of current World of Warcraft servers.

Legashi Satyrs (marked RED on the map) - Lageshi Satyrs, found in the northern Azshara are a great source of Runecloth, very valuable Felcloth (the main source of income from this spot), various Vendor Trash Items, and some Pocket Money. They can also be Pickpocketed, so Rogues will make additional Gold in this Spot. They have an annoying Mana Burn ability, so using an Interrupt is in order for all mana-based Classes. Satyrs also carry some Demonic Runes, that can be used to restore Mana at the cost of Health (basically, a Life Tap ability in the form of a Consumable. Those can't be sold on the Auction House, sadly, but are very useful nevertheless). Recommended Level - 50+ (52+ to be extra safe as Satyrs can be problematic because they tend to run away on low health and pull additional enemies).

Recently, Blizzard provided their own WoW Token system for players to buy and sell World of Warcraft Gold. However, the constantly fluctuating supply and demand means that prices will vary. Consequently, getting the best prices isn't guaranteed, nor do you know when you'll make a sale. You also can't trade or resell any tokens you buy, as they become instantly "Soulbound".

Although WoW currency can be found through quests, fallen enemies or the dreaded "farming" process, doing it the conventional way is time-consuming. Considering the upcoming release of the Legion expansion pack in August of 2016, stocking up on gold is more important than ever. This way, you can spend less time farming and more time buying everything you need to tackle the next set of challenges.
Plaguebats (marked BLUE on the map) - These Plague-affected beastly flying creatures roam southern parts of the Eastern Plaguelands. Slaying them will provide you with a lot of Vendor Trash Items (Evil Bat Eye, Bat Ear, Sleek Bat Pelt, and Large Bat Fang), Wicked Claws (used in Leatherworking and Blacksmithing Recipes), and maybe some 16 Slot Bags. Bats can also be Skinned for Rugged Leather, Thick Leather, Thick Hide, and Rugged Hide, so Skinning Profession is recommended for this Spot. Plague Bats have access to the Terrifying Screech Ability, so they can get annoying at times, especially for melee Classes, but are a great source of Gold nevertheless. Recommended Level - 53+.

Nov 15 My only complain about Classic... ...Horde doesn't have any nice looking races. In my mind each class has best RPG based race for it. So, I like Gnomes because I feel them Mages. Night Elves - Hunters. Humans - Paladins. On Horde side: Undead - ugly. Trolls - ugly. Orcs... uhh fine as Warriors, but I don't play warriors. Tauren - Warriors or Shaman, again don't play those. Blood Elves! Give me Blood Elves!Vlasta36 Nov 15

Kaivax, a WoW forum community manager, revealed that WoW Classic's class design, battleground mechanics and stats on existing items will be set to their 1.12 state, despite the game releasing content that expands beyond that. This removes "progressive itemization," so if the stats on a specific piece of equipment was changed during the original updates, that won't take effect in this version.

Nov 15 Looking Forward. So simple fun thread to see how you all think and feel. Name 1 thing you are definitely looking forward to, preferably not the obvious stuff but whatever go wild! I'll start with one. Professions aiding in immersion. Not sure if many noticed this but something I am excited about playing a hunter is the professions and how they aid in immersion for the hunter class so freaking well. All of the secondary profs help hunter immersion. Cooking, Fishing and First Aid all actually fueled the hunter lifestyle. Add in Skinning and Leather Working and it's straight up Hunter RPG.Melaned22 Nov 15
Players should keep in mind if you want to gain the full 100% XP reward from killing mobs they will need to close to your current level. With that in mind below we list each location you can grind levels 1-60 with the Mage class. The Level your character should be before you start farming in that specific location will be indicated to left in a Blue Color for Alliance [Lvl 35-39] and the Orange Color for Horde [Lvl 35-39]. The Mobs you are looking for in that specific area names are Bolded [Mob Name].

World of Warcraft is very old, by videogame standards. It was released in 2004. And about every two years, Blizzard releases a new expansion to update the game. Typically expansions don't really replace content, but it does displace it, and changes to mechanics and player abilities are indeed permanent and "retroactive". And in 2010, the Cataclysm expansion DID actually replace the old content from the release game.
A demo of the game was available at BlizzCon 2018, and was downloadable on home computers for anyone who purchased a BlizzCon ticket or virtual ticket. The servers became available when Opening Ceremony started at BlizzCon 2018 and was set to end on November 8, but was extended until November 12.[4] Players started at level 15, and the only available zones were Westfall and the Barrens.[5] It was based on patch 1.13.0, essentially patch 1.12.0 ported to a modern infrastructure. The first day of the demo, there was a playtime limit of a cumulative 60 minutes with a cooldown of 90 minutes, applied through the BlizzCon Exhaustion debuff.[6] The debuff was removed on the second day of BlizzCon 2018.[7]
